Postgraduate Accommodation

Magdalene provides central accommodation for as many postgraduate students as possible.

One of Magdalene’s best features is its postgraduate accommodation, with all postgraduate accommodation options within a 5-minute walk from the main site. Magdalene guarantees accommodation for all its incoming postgraduate students and allocates continuing students accommodation options from the remaining housing using a ballot system. All postgraduates are either housed on site or within various houses located nearby. Houses usually consist of gyp rooms (kitchen area), bathrooms and anywhere from 3 to 11 student bedrooms. There are also a few couples housing options available.

Most accommodation contracts run from 1 October to 15 September, but can end earlier if needed. A few housing options only have contracts that run until 30 June, for maintenance and renovation work. Housing prices come in separate rent bands depending on factors such as room size, house amenities and bathroom facilities. These rent bands range from A band (£230 weekly rate) to K band (£140 weekly rate). These rental rates include the cost of the room, utilities and internet.
